Separate to construction work on site, contractors Matrix Networks Ltd – a leading accredited independent connections provider – is carrying out a programme of utility connection works.
This involves installing a new gas main from the site along the A444 and Acresford Road into Ashby de la Zouch, and, separately, a new foul water pipe along the B4593 to Ashby Road Bridge and an electricity cable to Bolebridge Street in Tamworth.
The gas main installation began along the A444 near junction 11, M42 in December 2019.
These infrastructure works involve the temporary closure of one lane of the road in sections up to 200m at a time which will be managed by temporary traffic lights.
The works have continued along the A444, onto Acresford Road into Donisthorpe and along Ashby Road and Willesley Lane into Ashby de la Zouch.
The final section of pipe laying through Ashby de la Zouch will be completed in March. After this, small isolated works will be required along the length of the route in the spring to make the final connections.
